Documentary "Dancers of the Blue Sky"
In production (Mexico / Germany)

The documentary "Blue Sky Dancers" shares stories that illustrate the importance of family ties for the realisation of the traditional Mayo-Yoreme dances of Sinaloa. Only with the help of their families, the Fariseos have to walk through the desert for 40 days each year, dancing and collecting money for the Easter celebrations.

Synopsis: In the early 2000s, Crucito, just a few years old, became seriously ill. Faced with the inability of the doctors to give a diagnosis, his father, Cruz Jiménez, made a promise to God. Cruz Jiménez committed to lead a group of Fariseo dancers and teach Crucito so that he could later lead his own group. Crucito recovered, and Cruz Jiménez fulfilled his promise by serving as Mandón de Fariseos during the period 2010-2013. Ten years later, Easter 2023, it is Crucito's turn to fulfill his part of the promise and lead one of the four groups of Fariseos of Tehueco Ceremonial Center for three consecutive years.
